Terms and Conditions of Service

Leopard Yala Safaris Effective Date: October 24, 2025

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using our website or booking any safari tour. By booking a tour with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. General Agreement

1.1 Parties

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the Customer) and Leopard Yala Safaris (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a registered tour operator in Sri Lanka.

1.2 Amendments

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The most current version will always be posted on our website and will be effective immediately upon posting.

2. Booking and Confirmation

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking. By placing a booking, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2.2 Accuracy of Information

You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided during the booking process, including names, dates, and accommodation details for pickup, is accurate and complete. Inaccurate information may result in denied entry to Yala National Park or missed pickups, for which we hold no liability.

2.3 Pricing and Payment

All prices are quoted in the currency specified on the booking page and include applicable Yala National Park fees and government taxes, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation and purchase the mandatory park permits.

2.4 Cancellation and Refunds

Our cancellation and refund policies are detailed in our separate Refund and Cancellation Policy document. By booking, you agree to the terms outlined in that policy.

3. Safari Service Delivery and Safety

3.1 Park Rules and Regulations

Yala National Park is governed by strict regulations set by the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWLC). You must comply with all instructions given by our safari driver/tracker and all park rules. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Remaining inside the safari jeep at all times unless at designated rest stops.
  • Maintaining silence or speaking softly to avoid disturbing the wildlife.
  • Prohibiting feeding of animals or littering.

Failure to follow these rules may result in immediate termination of the safari and fines imposed by park authorities, with no refund provided.

3.2 Wildlife Sightings

We specialize in providing high-quality leopard and wildlife safaris. However, we deal with wild animals in their natural habitat. We do not guarantee the sighting of any specific animal, including the Sri Lankan Leopard. Refunds or discounts will not be offered for tours where specific animals were not sighted.

3.3 Vehicle Allocation

We reserve the right to substitute vehicles and drivers if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances or maintenance issues, ensuring the replacement vehicle meets our safety and quality standards.

3.4 Pick-up Time

Our safaris operate on strict park time slots. While we strive for punctuality, slight delays may occur due to local traffic or unforeseen circumstances. Customers must be ready at their confirmed pickup location at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time.

4. Limitation of Liability

4.1 Risk Acknowledgment

You acknowledge that participating in a wildlife safari involves inherent risks, including but not limited to, travel in rugged terrain, exposure to natural elements, and encounters with wild animals. You agree to assume all such risks.

4.2 Limitation of Damages

In no event shall Leopard Yala Safaris, its directors, employees, or agents, be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of, or in any way connected with:

  • Any injury, loss, damage, or death occurring during the safari.
  • The delay or inability to use the booking service or safari.
  • Any theft, loss, or damage to personal property.

Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the total amount paid by you for the specific tour booking in question.

4.3 Insurance

We strongly recommend that all customers purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes coverage for personal accidents, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and loss of property.

5. Intellectual Property

The content, design, logos, and service marks used on this website and in connection with Leopard Yala Safaris are our property and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, copy, or use any of this material without our express written permission.

6. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising out of or related to your booking or use of our services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
